blend shaders

hello people :)
I need some helpabout how to blend between 2 surface presets with a gradient. If there is plugin for that or some trick I'll be very thankfull to know :)
I tryed to make clone of the original object and to apply the second surface preset to it, then I put a gradient on transparency on the two surfaces ( the second gradient is inverted ), but the result is not that I need.

everyone is welcome with suggestions.

The new Shader Blend plugin in LW 7.5b! If you don't have it, you may need to copy all textures etc. from both source materials to a new one and the play with layer blend modes and layer opacities to tweak the result. Depending on the complexity of your surface this could take a while, however.

10x man, I'll try the plugin, the second part with mixing layers will stay for "plan B" :)
