The weird shadows on the long shot must be something to do with AA as they are very much angle dependant. Whether it's because I'm using Innercaster I don't know.

Not happy with the look of the machine heads, need to alter the reflection on these, it *should* be right, but seems there is more to do.
Probably alter the sound hole decoration so it is different for each guitar.
..And the roof of the room seem dark for some reason, (headstock shot).
Other than that, I'm quite happy with 'em :)

For those that are wondering, yes, the strings are wound around the capstans ;)

Hey, nice models!

Did you string 'em "lefty" on purpose?
My only crit is - the neck should be slightly wider where it attaches to the body. I just measured my actual guitar, and it's 1/2" wider at the body. (1 5/8" at the nut, 2 1/8" at the body.)
Oh, maybe one more. The strings are nearly invisible in the longer shot. Maybe make them more reflective, should stand out more.

Other than that, really nice job!

It may not look it, but yeah, the neck does taper slightly. I had a background image of my Tanglewood for a template. Granted though, I may have to "fake" it, sometimes real isn't enough ;)

Lefty on purpose, simply because I am :D You wouldn't believe the trouble I had sourcing a slim-back left-handed semi-acoustic - it was like searching for some lost treasure!

I agree about the strings, for some reason, the reflections aren't happening. Mind you, the bronze strings tend not to be reflective, but even so, they do seem to fade away don't they?
Going to take it out of the scene and try to isolate the problem I think.
Thanks for the critiques, keep 'em coming, it can only help :)

Cokai,
These are great, well crafted models and look entirely convincing... As a guitarist myself (Lowden acoustic and Gordon Smith strat), I can see you've used the 'Aladdins Cave Guitar Shop Drool Factor' plugin effectively, which usually only works with Les Pauls and Gibson 335s.

You really need to appy hdri image world to get the best out of the chrome machine heads and fretboards... and go for more dramatic camera and lighting set ups. The huge room swallows up the models and detracts attention from them. Keep posting!!

bobakabob...
Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah, I am beginning to think I need to take them out of the room, going to play around a bit, see if I can improve the scene a little. I'm tied up with work for the next couple of nights, but hope to put a bit of time in before the end of the week.

BTW, My two hand-built guitars are by Gordy, ex of Gordon-Smith, love 'em!
