Layout can't find objects in scene after close and save

I've been using V9 since Beta- no problems- now after reloading the software. Layout, after creating a scene and loading the objects, save out quit, re-open scene - I get a message "can't find bla bla path.." I changed content directory in layout and modeler- same thing. Also it doesn't load a full compliment of objects as it used too- "error loading object" during render..."notenoughmemory...bla bla". Tech support is where all my problems began, I won't go into that one- Any one got a suggestion-? Video card maybe? MAC 2-gig G5 8-gb ram ver.tiger 10.4 (was on 3.9)

Are you saying after 'Save Scene' and 'Save All Objects' or just 'Save Scene'

it doesn't matter, save scene or save all objects- what seems to be working is leaving the scenes and objects on the desktop - they will then re-link. Ightwave started giving me this problem when I installed OS 10.4 Tiger.
