Hi Neverko,
Neverko wrote: Did you use a proper node setup with a switch node for inner surfacing and double sided switched on? It doesn't look quite like glass and the eyes and mouth frankly look completely out of place.
What did you set your index of refraction to?
You also seem to have geometry errors in there.
Is this a poser model?
Thanks for the critique/suggestions. You would be 100% correct-if I was trying for a realistic, glass, figure. However-that was not the intention. :-)
It's supposed to be SURREALISTIC, as if she might be capable of movement and speech, perhaps an android? My warped brain tends to BE surrealistic when I doodle with LW at 3 AM. :beerchug:
Yes, proper node setup with spot info "Polygon", true/false, Standard (air poly substitute), double sided, etc. The title is not "glass woman"so it's not supposed to look like glass. I also have a version with eyes and lips using dielectric. This one is not SUPPOSED to look like glass-and much of what you see is surroundings refracted/reflected. I suspect that there are geometry errors, ie a few non-planar polys, any extra light bending/internal reflection was welcome, in this case.:screwy: Index of ref is higher than glass. I also frankly intended the eyes and mouth to be non-dielectric-part of that android idea. To each there own, I guess.
Poser model? No, it's specifically a Daz3d model, that I have an end users agreement. I AINT that good at modeling-but I enjoy Lightwave nonetheless. Quite a few people post texture experiments with models they have not made.I do ALL this as geeky FUN, btw. I'm a Biochemist by trade who works in the biopharmaceutical trade- and NO, I do NOT sample my own wares! :screwy:

Eric, all the buzz over 9.2 is about how realistic and fast it renders glass, skin, etc, something that was very difficult. Try to render that model in realistic glass and post it here, I think itīll let the image more attractive!
Some more AA should be fine, too.

Caesar,
Ah! Put that way. I will do so! Off to modeler to nuke non-planars, get rid of extra points, convert quads to polys, etc. I read Neverko's post as basically- "IT ain't glass and-your pic sucks!" Put it your way-and I'm happy to comply!

Hi Caesar,
I posted a more glass like image in the OB gallery. Wont post anything here-till it passes muster, :-) Eric

Neverko, all said- I can't seem to delete the image. Dang-but the followup (more glass like).does look better....
