Field order questions

Hello. I feel like *such* a noobie. I've been away from working with VT for two years or so, and I need to re-examine some stuff.

We just received a spot from another broadcast station that edits on Final Cut/Mac and observed a severe field order problem.

I swear there used to be a field order toggle in VT[2], but I can't seem to find anything in VT[4], even after finding threads like this one: http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63639&highlight=field+order

So, here are my questions: Is there a quick field order toggle in VT[4]? Where is it? I seem to recall that VT is lower field first...is that correct? Does anyone know what field order I might expect out of a Mac with Final Cut?

There is no field toggle feature from VT[2] to VT[4]. Only AuraVT have such feature. You can import the clip with pre-load feature off. Change the field order of Aura project, then render it out.

I can not remember which version of VT use lower/upper field first (or even/odd field first) but NewTek do change the field order after VT[2].

If you are using RTV files. Keep in mind that if RTV file resolution is 720x480, it use VT[2] field order. If RTV file solution is 720x486, it use VT[3]/VT[4] field order.

Can anyone ring in to say which field order is in place for which VT?

OK.

VT[2] use even (lower) field first for NTSC.

VT[3]/VT[4] use odd (upper) filed first for NTSC and even (lower) field first for PAL.
