Hello
You have to either give your glas- surface a refraction- index and turn on "raytrace refraction" in the renderoptions, or turn on raytrace transparency in the renderoptions.
Hope that helps.

You can also set the number of ray trace recursions down from the default of 16 and still get excellent results while saving some rendering time. Just be aware that if you have lots of reflective or transparent surfaces, you may want to leave it high to get all of various bounces and surfaces to render properly.
