Can't wait to see some renders, Lewis. I just looked at your Maserati renders/animation again at your site. Incredible work. Very inspiring.

I've seen your Mustang tut in "forum format", but it seems like I remember a .pdf version. Is that right? If so, could you send me a link?

Again, really nice work.

That is a good word for it, Rob, Inspiring!
Some day I too will be able to make a car look like that!

And there is nothing wrong with good detailing!:)

Nice to see you over here Lewis. The viper looks great. I'm right behind you with my next car. Literally, my car is not as fast as yours :D . Just needs some tires and dashboard. Like you, I also modeled the logo. Gotta love those details :) . I still used your Mustang tutorial for some reference with this car (http://www.lwg3d.org/v3/store.php?cat=33). Hope to post it soon and look forward to your post as well.

Hi Epita !

To make looong story short i would recomend you my interactive car tutorial so that you can check how i made this car aslo. Basicaly i use SubDs or SubPatches caled in LW (older version of LW caled them metaNURBS). Here is link for HTML tutorial.

Any color suggestions ? Interior color = ???? exterior color = ???
cheers.

P.S. Images are linked to LWG since i still didn't figured out how to attach more than one file in one post ??? Is that possible like on old NewTek forums ??? I se eonly one Attach file line and don't know how to use it multyple time withour replyng to myself ?

That damn car looks pretty damn good Lewis. :D

Personally, I can't image doing a Viper in anything other than red. -maybe a dark charcoal grey interior???

Tonight, I read most of your Mustang tut. (whew) You're a very patient person to answer sooooo many questions, and many of the same ones over and over and over again.... ;) Anyway, between reading the tut and watching your Viper come along, I'm really getting the "inspiration" to do a car.

It's looking great. I can't wait to see some renders. :D

-Rob

P.S. -I'm not sure about the multiple attachment thing. As far as I know, you can only attach 1 image per post, but you can link to as many as you like in a single post. Can anyone clarify???

Thanks Rob, yes i'am patient with that tutorial and i surprised myself that i managet to answer so many times at same question without going crazy :). I should make soem copy/paste text for new questions :).

Wierd thing on Vipers (at least RT/10 modles) is that 90% of images what i saw on interent have black (leather) interior ? Only custom painted ans others hve soem wacky interiors :).

P.S. Yes i asked myself same thing about attaching files. I don't see other way than just hit new reply and upload new image but if i have 3-4 images it's frustrating to do so :). On other side you must be sure abot links so that they not expire in 20-30 days or you delete them form your page (i hate broken links) so that's reason why i more like to upload images to forums server :).

Maybe NewTek could give use 2-3 more upload (attach file) section at one post ??

I'am still not sure wich one to choose since i made RED and BLACK one ,but i will try silver color also ;).

You forgot to model the bird crap on the hood. :) Great work! I'm still eagerly awaiting full-sized renders. :D

BTW -I started my first car a few days ago using your technique. (Can't seem to find any time to work on it though.)

Hi !

jovicics - you could post me a link to your images - it would be faster ;)

Rob - what "bird "crap" ??? I don't have anything else (beside snake head badge) on hood at my references ??? Remember this is 1992 RT/10 model and not GTS wich have different hood and other parts!

can you show me what you think ??

P.S. I hope you will enyoj in car modeling when you get some free time ;).

Lewis,

Sorry I wasn't clear. That was meant as a compliment that you have modeled everything in such precise detail. Where I live, a car that clean and beautiful wouldn't last long until a bird flying over would poop on it. I was just asking where the modeled bird poop is on the hood. (sort of a joke, but not very funny) :) Like I said before, great work.

I almost have the spline guidlines finished on my car. I'll post it when I've made a little more progress.

LOL Rob :). That dind't cros my mind ;). I would consider that when i park Viper. To be hones i would try to avoid that birds s..t if is possible :).

Thanks.

Show us your spline when you are ready.

I'm sorry i forgot that posibilty.
So what oyu think about this?
What i should repiar on it and maybe some tips how to get more realistic model

Lewis

hi jovivics !

You models looks very nice. I can't see nothing wrong with them from this small image.

Relistic modle formula would be - a lot of detials :)

If you ask about relaistic render then it's whole story - you need environment for cars to ger proper reflections. You can't make model look good (at least shader) if you have black environment and car have nothing to reflect. Use LWs imageworld for virtual environment and set some HDRI images to get nice reflections. I like radiosity so that's another nice thing to achive relistic look.
