Hi again.

Here is a quick walk animation test. I did not spend too much time on refining the animation, but wanted to see how Simple skin in 9.2 holds up during animation.

Great job.

Animation works well but like you said it could use some refining here and there. I think Simple Skin definitely works for animation. What where your frame render times like?

He may be an IT guy, but the lack of a neck is an obvious give-away that he plays rugby...

Really nice picture, what where your settings on the nodes and what where your render settings.

Ps: The link seems to be dead on the animation

hmm...not sure why the link is dead, but here is a zip file

Thanks, Nice animation, Like the design! i was wondering if the skin shader takes on your render time??

Looks good.. glad to see it holds up.. the images ive been seeing of the skin node seemed noisey which i was concerned could be an issue. Hopefully the new interpolated GI is also as solid :)

Samus - Thanks! The first frames took about 8 minutes per frame. After that the character comes closer and render times went up to about 17 minutes.

kfinla - Thank you. Like neverko said, just increase the sss samples. In this animation I used the default samples with no problem.

alifx - Wow, glad you liked it! Thanks. :D

Looks nice. Its good to see a moving test of the skin shader although the reflection on the forehead seems a little odd.

It's nice but quite heavy on the render times. Is this in relation off the skin shader or your radiosity settings?? I'm pretty sure it can be reduce to around 2 min IMHO ( or was this a stress test) .

Still nice work to me.
Sam

pooby - Thanks buddy! I will have a look at the reflection...it seems a bit high.

Samus - The high render count was caused by the skin shader. I did however manage to cut the time in half but lowering samples and cutting on Radiosity settings.

Hey Werner...
Great little movie...

Would you like to participate in the 9.2 promo movie, over in the OB forums?

Um... was this directed at me?
What's in post no 9 concerning the 9.2 reel?

The resolution for the reel is 720x404... so the current animation won't fit.

Werner

no, it was for Speedmonk42

I will do a 720x404 render for you if you like?

That'd be great! yoy know what this is about right?
We're getting a lot of animations in now from the OB team. Yours so far would be the only one that has CA and Skin.

Ok, render is on the way. How do you want the file...zipped tga's, or avi file?

Hope you don't mind but the animation is sitting at 170 frames.

Not a problem at all...
how about zipped HQ jpg's?
If you have the space for tga's somewhere thats fine too, I can provide you with about 100mb of upload space.

Exception! I'm done with the rendering. Where can I put it? I don't have any space available at the moment. I have a lossless avi file that is 146 meg in sise. Will this be a problem? How are we going to get the file to you?

Here is a compressed example file...
