Hey everyone. It's been a while since I've shown what I've been up to so I thought I'd throw this out. This was done in my spare time over the last couple of days (about 6 hours of work and one overnight render). It had to be finished for a friend's project by today for the initial draft but I will be fine tuning it over the next few days and I'd like a little feedback on a few things. I know that the camera movement and the beam effect (added in After Effects in about 5 minutes) are really rough but I would like comments on other things (especially the smoke/vapor trail). Any thought or suggestions are appreciated.
Modeled in Modo 202, Textures, lights, particles & Render in LW 9. Post in Shake and a little After Effects.

Well, as you've sort of alluded to, I'd tone the shake down a bit. Looks like your camerman has some sort of alcohol-related problem. Could you soften/blur the vapour trail a bit when it comes near the camera - the Hvs are looking abit, well, hypervoxelly...
Like the zoom-in bit, adds some nice dynamism to the shot.

Here is a still from that I am using to fine tune the look of the animation. This will be matching the live action sequences. Comments welcome.

Landscape is a still from a 6 megapixel camera (I really would have liked it to be 8 or more... oh well). Currently, it is just composited with 3D over the image. If I had more time, I would have projection mapped it to geometry and done the camera work in LW... I like the way the camera handles in LW better than doing the work in post.
I am working on the re-render right now and should have an update a luttle later on.

qool:D i will wate more post
Looks nice but as was pointed out I would only shake the camera when the ship passes by. Have you seen the show Dogfights? It was done in LW and you will notice they do shake the camera a lot but only when the planes fly near the camera.
