Yup, I'm hitting this topic hard. :D

So how bout it Newtek? You've got the base code from the Amiga Toaster to work with, the AmigaOne has PCI slots and is powerful enough... sure it'd take some time, effort and some money, but I bet you'd sell a lot of VTs to people who'd either rather avoid having to deal with Windows (a lot of the Linux crowd,) as well as to people who could be convinced that an Amiga-based Toaster just *has* to be superior to one stuck into a PC. ;)

I know I'd get one, even if I had to sell my PC to afford it.

If they haven't ported it to a MAC why would they port it to the Amiga One? Both the MAC and the Amiga One are PowerPC based so code written for the original Amiga (Motorola 68xxx series code) is useless. Besides the the old toaster software has little similarity to VT2 (3). Also they have SLOW processors. For a product that depends on Processor speed it doesn't make sense to design something for an 800Mhz G4 PPC. Besides the sales of the Amiga One will be miniscule. Now once Macs finally go to an Intel processor so you can run windows natively then I can see putting a VT3 in a MAC :D

I haven't had a chance to put it to the test yet, but from what I've heard, Lightwave (for example) will run on the AmigaOne. Y'know, the LW written for the 68K.

I'm not suggesting they devote the resources to it that they would to a Mac or Linux port. But they might consider giving support to a 3rd party developer interested in updating/converting the AmigaOne to run the VT[3].

The Amiga port would probably be best changed to use OpenGL anyway.

We have been trying to do something like this for a while with Ami[2].

It has been going slow though, some backing from Newtek would help.
