Dongle Problem?

I am in the process of moving to another apartment and about to box up my computer soon.

My concern is if I should remove my dongle or not. I read in these forums that people that have removed their dongle, get strange things such as LW defaulting to Discovery mode.

Should this be a concern for me?

I could leave it in, but I like to pack everything electronic and fragile within its original packaging, styrofoam, etc and this dongle protrudes a bit and I do not want it to get bent or hit anything in the moving process.

You should have no problem removing it. If you want to be "extremely cautious", you could always power down the machine, remove the dongle, move apratments, reattach the dongle and power up the machine.

The computer would have no idea you removed it. :)

Thanks, but what do you mean "power down" my machine?
Is this turning it off? I do that every night.
