Hi, I had a crazy idea.
For tree branches, to keep poly counts low, what about having
a plane that vibrates along the length of a tree branch, and
that has a volumetric texture applied to that plane? The
volumetric texture would be something like a sprite rendering
of a branch that was modeled and then rendered down.
So that way you could turn your 3d objects into a volumetric
texture and use the motion-blurred polygon to get the
volumetric rendering from a pre-rendered sprite.
Does this sound like something that'd be possible?
Would it be a time-saving way to create trees, instead of
having tons of geometry?
