Modeling Popcorn

This kinda looks like popcorn doesnt it?
I basically pushed and pulled polys to get the puffed shape, then selected a bunch and smooth shifted the kernel...
any suggestions on how to make it more like popcorn?

the outside looks fine to me, but the inside is too shiny, like gold.. Also if you could add some of the unexploded kernel in the center of the inside it would help... great job though!
