Hi,

Iīm in the process of purchasing a new system to work with VT, and Iīm thinking of using a motherboard with Intel E7505 Chipset.

I know you guys love Supermicro (and I do, too), but itīs quite hard to find Supermicro motherboards down here in Brazil.

My hardware supplier has a Tyan S2668, running with Intel E7505 Chipset, with Dual Xeon processors.

This card has five 32-bit 33MHz (5V) PCI 2.2 slots. Is this a problem?

My question to you guys is: what do you think of this motherboard? Has anyone had or seen problems with this specific board?

The specifications for this motherboard are here: http://www.tyan.com/products/html/tigeri7505_spec.html

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Thanks for your answers. Although I don't see a reason why this motherboard wouldn't work, Iīm still concerned about the fact that this board does not have any 64 bit PCI slots.

I know that Toaster works on 32 bit slots, but in case I want to add a SCSI 160 or SCSI 320 controller, wouldnīt it be better to have it installed in a 64 bit slot? Wouldnīt I lose speed with a 32 bit PCI?

Thanks again,

Yes, Helder, it would.

I got the TYAN 2665UNF. I has 3 PCI-X slots and on board dual U320 scsi. It works great with VT2 but does require an EPS12V power supply.
