Does Speed Edit allow you to inherit files?
And if so, how do you do it? (For instance, in VT you right click on the clip that is highlighted in red, click on "find file" and then just tell it which folder to find the footage in.)
Thanks.

That is not technically "inherit". You use this when you have lost the path to a file. It works the same way in SpeedEdit. there is also a preferences setting for "find missing files" to reset the path.
Inherit works by taking the attributes applied to one clip and transposing onto another clip.
two ways to do this. Copy and paste(inherit) onto the new clip and drag ---and drop with ALT key pressed.
Works the same with SpeedEDIT.
Hope this helps,

Works the same with SpeedEDIT. Good explanation. :)
One minor correction: SE does not have the Paste (Inherit) menu point that VT-Edit does. ALT-drag is the same as always though.

I sit corrected. I wasn't in my studio when I answered this and wasn't looking at it. I wonder why they chose not to include it. I have found it helpful in the past.
Shaving the code to lighten the load perhaps?
Maybe we should call it a "Lean, Mean, Editing Machine".
Aloha,

It's good to hear that the tricks we learn in VT will still work in SE. At least most of them :)
