Does anyone know how to get the Lightwave Camera to produce a fisheye effect? We need to put images up on a dome and from my understanding my only recourse is to turn to another program to stitch the images together... Anyone have any experience with this shiv?

Hi,

I doubt its the best way to do it but you can always use a lens or mirror to do produce the distortion.

To use a mirror make a domed object (part of a sphere is good) and make sure its as detailed as possible (to reduce unwanted distortions). Set the surface to 100% reflective, and 0 on all other channels, set smoothing on, and enable raytraced reflections. Then you point the camera directly away from the scene, and move the mirror until it fills the frame.

You'll need to experiment with how domed to make the mirror/lens (you could use morph mixing for this) and where you put the camera and lens relative to the scene.

hope that helps,

JW.

Awesome idea, I'm gonna setup a scene tonight and try that out, I'll just parent a camera to a viewpoint I want to the oposing view with the dome on the other angle.
Thanx
