Having just gone through the female head exercise in InsideLW7 book, I noticed how, when laying down points, the geometry matched in both the front and side viewports.

When I take photos of a model character that I want to try on my own, try as I might I just cannot get the sizes of the pictures to match. For instance if I line up points correctly in the side view where the lips are supposed to be, in the front view, they'll be on top of the nose!

Can anyone share any tips on the best way to prepare backdrop images for use in LW. The last time I tried taking some pics, I even used a ruler to make sure the camera was as close as possible to it's position for the last shot. Yet still I cannot get my geometry to line up properly.

Help! :help:

I use Photoshop for this. I create one image with both front and side views as seperate layers, but side-by-side. Drag on guides to make sure things line up. If they don't (ie - all the time) I use the transform tools to scale or rotate one or both of the images.
I save this as a 'master', then crop the image and save seperate files for front and side.

I'm sure someone else has a much slicker way of doing this, but it works for me.

Thanks. I gave that a try. For some reason the images were still a bit off but it was closer than I had got before.
