Templates & 2 DSKs

Would be great if VT4 (or VT5) could include some of the scoreboard templates needed for live sports production. This would include the Timer, Scores and live information for sports such as football, soccer, volleyball, basketball etc... A template for news would also be much appreciated. This also could include crawling text (which could be updated in realtime).

And yes, WE NEED TWO DSKs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But with the current RS8, how would we control the second DSK? My Christmas wish is for an expanded switcher controller with more source buttons, DDR clip control, DSK source control, and oh yeah, control for two DSK's. I know that's huge, but sometime in the future, I think it would be a great option for the us folks.

Well, we COULD use the current RS8 only that the second DSK would be present in the software. That DSK would take care of alpha keying objects which don't require much change such as ticker tapes and station IDs.

True, but in a live switch environment, I would want to have control over as much as possible. With two DSK's, Newtek has the opportunity to have a 1-up on their competitors and ALMOST offer a 2 M/E switcher. Most of the video hardware is in place, but the UI is something that could be IMO somewhat easily improved upon.

Two DSK's would be amazing. That would solve all my issue's during our live events. I think I would fall over and die at the sight of 2 DSK's. It would give us huge possibilities!

I want to voice my support for 2 DSK's. I think it is CRUCIAL for VT5. We've been using Bob's 3rd Channel plugin (Which is great and should have been included by Newtek from the start) but would like to bring up CG pages at the same time.

It doesn't matter to me that it can't be switched on the RS8. When you have more than 8 cameras you are beyond the RS8 anyway. There are joysticks and other plugins that can be assigned to do this. But, as I said before, this is a must-have.

We've preordered VT5 and I thought I read somewhere that this feature was being considered. Please, make it happen!

If I remember right, I think they said VT[5] would have 2 DSKs - there may have even been talk of 3 of them!
