Failure writing to Toaster Core...

Recently at my job I've been appointed with a Video Toaster machine. We re-installed windows on the machine, installed the latest patch, and I found I got an error when I ran the core updater.

"communication failure writing vlad core"

I have a constant "no video signal present" error in toaster vision no matter how many times I re-install the toaster driver etc.

I have a toaster at home as well, and it has never had a problem running the core updater, no matter what version, no matter whether it was already installed or not. Anyone else come across this error before ?

Contact Tech support, and they can get it looked at.

Depending on who's been doing the core updater, it might have been damaged.
I've heard that after a core update, you should shut down the computer for several minutes and DON"T do a restart or you can damage the VT card. I've even been told to unplug it.

Now, I've heard all kinds of superstitions over the last several years of Computer edit systems, but to avoid downtime, I usually follow those superstitions to the letter.

I even sacrifice a chicken before every re-install. Just in case the Software god's are watching!;)
