Is there an animation importer that'll load Poser 6 character animations in Lightwave besides Greenbriar Studio?
Any tips or tricks in regard to importing Poser Animations
Thanks

Yes, I have done this from Poser 5 without plugins, (must get round to doing the second part of my tutorial, which will cover this in detail).
It's potentially painful, but it does work for fairly short sequences..
What you need to do is get you moves set up in poser, and then export a sequence of OBJ files. You do NOT need every frame, but you must avoid too big a change.
Get the first object into LW and textured. I cover this here:

You do NOT need to texture anything other than the first one. You can also triple polygons for the first one, as that does not affect any point positions or order.
The trick is then to use lightwave's multiple morph / single envelope feature. (I'm not going to rewrite the manual here, it is a little confusing but if you try it, things will make more sense).
Set each OBJ exported frame as a morph target for the previous one.
You will then find that you can adjust the morph percentage to sweep through the entire range.
You must be careful - if you go from hand stretched out to fingers touching nose in one step, for example, the hand will pass through the elbow! Keyframeing every other frame in poser is normally a good start.
With careful choice of keyframes you can get a surprisingly effective run cycle in 9 keyframes and a morph loop...
I find it gets too unwieldy with more than about a dozen targets on the one object.

Thx Starbase:thumbsup:
Nice bunch of helpful hints and tutorials!
Have you tried the PZLW Plugin
under deformers tab in Lw 9?

You will have to register with em
before downloading it
Not sure as to it working in Poser 6 & Lightwave 9
