Shave 2

Although this news doesn't affect LW (at least not yet), Shave 2 just came out. It now works with reflections and transparencies and uses a much smaller memory footprint -- of course, that doesn't necessarily translate to being a lot faster.

What's interesting is that it costs 300 EUR for C4D and $800 for Maya.

Shave is an awsesome plug-in, although the latest version is still ironing out the wrinkles where mental ray is concerned in Maya (the newest release constantly crashes when trying a mental ray preview render, at least on my system anyway.....). Bug-free update expected soon....

And for those looking for Shave for LightWave, don't hold your breath. From what I've been getting from the Shave community, Joe is not planning a version for Newtek software. Your best bet for LightWave is Sasquatch, where NewTek seems to have placed their loyalty.
