Hi,

I need to render the wireframe of my model for print work. If I attached the image correctly to this post, you will see the eye geometry bleeding through to outer skin surface in my rendering.

I am using Object Properties > Edges with Silhouette Edges, Unshared Edges and Other Edges all checked to create the wireframe on a shaded model effect.

I know that I can render the eyes and head in a separate passes and Photoshop it all together, but that does not solve my issues with bleeding geometry in areas like the ears or nostrils. Hmm... kinda stumped here.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Dan

PS. Since this is my first time attaching an image, I am placing my URL to the image below just incase I screw up the upload. ;-)

Are your normals aligned correctly? Basically this is the only thing I can think of. If not, use double sided or flip them.

Thanks Mylenium for taking a stab at it... but my normals are fine. At one point I tried turning on double sided too - but it never made a difference. Transparency is also set to zero, so that's not it. Aaargh...

Tried Quickshade instead of Realistic in Render Options?

You could try playing with "Zoom Factor/Lens Focal Length" in Camera Properties too, but obviously that's going to affect the image perspective...

Terry

strange, I'm not getting any see-through polys using the same settings - is your polygon size set to 100%, rendering on realistic, "render outlines" in the surface panel turned off -

Toby and Terry,

You guys are definately on to something. Toby, my settings match your suggestions but Terry, you've seem to have stumbled upon the possible culprit. :-)

I've been rendering the wireframes in a near, orthographic view (2 degrees in Horizontal field of view. The flatter that I make the camera's HFoV, the meshes collide. Leaving the HFoV at settings above 20 degrees, renders with normal results. it looks like I will need to play around with the camera settings some more, now that I know where to look.

I greatly appreciate the tips posted here - you're all awesome!

Big Thanks!

Dan
