FX_emiter prob,not found?

My lightwave install was fine for weeks, then last night I tried to do some particle animation, I add an emiter then go to tweak settings on the dynamic tab and I get this lovley message: No plugin of type Custom ObjItnterface found with name FX_Emiter would you like to load it from disk?
I can't load from disk because the install disk is not setup to do that you know? I mean it's got an install-exe, an icon and the pdf manuals. It gives the same message for collision and wind etc.... it will ad an emiter but i can't change parameters, i have no control.
I'm guessing somehow the install is corrupt, I really don't want to have to re-install, anyone else heard of this?

system: Asus K8v MB, Athlon dual core, 2GB mem, Quadro FX4000, XP Pro service pack 2.

Have you tried deleting your LW config [.cfg] files to see if scanning all plugins fixes the problem?

Wow, thanks! I don't know why that didn't occur to me. I guess thats why we have forums, so we can smack each other in the forehead and say, WAKE UP! Actually, all I had to do was re-scan the directory.
