With the apparent slipping of the Mac Universal Binnary version of Lightwave from 'before the end of 2006' to 'sometime in 2007' I've deided to buy yet another Windows cd.
Question is - which version?
Supposedly XP supports only two physical cpu cores.
Has anyone running XP on a Mac Pro checked Task Manager to see how many cores are actually in use?
And - is anyone running 2003 Server on a Mac Pro? It definitely supports more than two cores.
Can 2003 Server 64 bit even be installed on a Mac Pro? Or does Bootcamp limit the install to XP 32 bit?
Frankly I plan on sticking with LW 8.5 until the 9.x UB version is shipping on the content cd. Don't see any reason to upgrade until then.
Also - if the Mac Pro can't run a Windows OS that accesses all four cores then I might as well buy a PC rather than Mac Pro - whether I want to or not.
