I have a T2, and I recently installed a Siig Firwire 800 combo card,
(has Firewire 800/400 USB2) and it is causing the video in Toaster
to run choppy.
I know it is this card because when I take it out it fixes it.
I have tried moving it around a few slots and does the same thing
no matter where I put it.
The device manager doesn't show a conflict, but I don't know what
to do....I need to use this device.
HELP!!!!

It's probably stealing cycles from the VT card. You may need to upgrade the motherboard to one that has firewire built in.

I have searched hard for a supermicro motherboard that had firewire onboard and I did not see anything. I am not sure about Tyan or any other brand. I have a firewire 400 board in my VT4.6 system and have no problems at all. I also had the same firewire board in the same system and running VT2 and was kind of flakey at times. I know in that vintage of VT, the firewire drivers were more of an issue. There are two flavors of drivers for the firewire 400 cards, the TI and Windows versions. I do not know if that is the case for the firewire 800 though. Maybe some other people can give input because there are a lot of people using the higher speed firewire.
