That's a truly amazing level of detail on the text you have there! Wonderful modelling. I thionk perhaps some different lighting could bring it out more though - maybe have it in a pool of light from a spotlight?

Very nice piano. I'm curious, how did you do the lettering/leafy designs?

Maybe I should do something special for my 5000th post...:)

those are fonts... but too complex for LW to load..so i redraw each in LW.. converting in eps helped but not much. On the sides .. those are modeled in LW and looking much better (clean).

anyone having problems with advanced camera and non planar polys? I know i should triple, but old camera is rendering fine.

well this is basic 3 spot light setup and HDR building pic as image world texture for reflections....dont know what you mean by (pool of light).
I am having problems to show shadows on reflecting materials.

Anyway i just tried the occlusion render on dual opterons 2GHz with 2GB ram..and its fast...around 3-5 min frame ...on athlon64 3200+ 1GB ram took around 15-25 min. I still cant beleave the difference...i guess i am doing something different/wrong.

Holy crap!.. Makes both of my pianos look *so* fake and crappy... Both being the one I modeled, and the other being the baldwin in my living room!

Makes half of me want to give up, and makes the other half of me aspire to someday do half as nice work..

I'm gonna go flip a coin @.@

Truely amazing, Imperial. **** fine work!.. simply incredible! I'm speechless!

edit: er.. Darn fine work, then?
