So I've got my Quad core running lightwave.

Since I've never used multi-processor system before, how do I know if Lightwave is taking advantage of the dual cores?

When I render a scene, I see that it lists Render Threads: 4 in the Render Status menu. Is there a setting in Lightwave that I need to turn on or does it "just work"?

Also, with multi-core rendering, does Lightwave use all the processors together on each frame, or does each processor take a frame individually?

Thanks in advance.

Look at the Activity Monitor. It'll show how much each processor/core is actually being used. The Mac OS handles what executes on which CPU/core. As long as LightWave is set to 4 or more threads it'll divide the render up into threads that the Mac OS can run on any available CPU/Core.

You can change the # of render threads in the Render options panel.

It uses all the procs for each frame, unless you set up your system with multiple render nodes.
