I just received my copy of v9. During installation i receive an error "Decompression failed: Read error. The application will most likely not work correctly. Do you still want to continue with the next file?" When I click Yes, it doesn't go to the next file.

The error occurs at 94% of the install. I e-mailed Newtek and received the following response: "How much room is left on the C: drive or the OS drive and what happens if you hit yes. You could also download the Internet installer off of www.reg.newtek.com"

This site does not work and I can't locate the "Internet installer" file.

I have 92GB free on the OS drive.

Thoughts?

Hmmm. That's not particularly helpful, is it? It sounds like your disk (or possibly CD drive) has a problem. You can download the installer from NewTek, but it's a bit of an effort. You have to register first at register.newtek.com - you'll need this anyway to access updates and license information.

Once you have registered, you will either need to head for 'My Downloads' (if you are a new user, I suspect this works) or if you are an upgrader, you need to use the topmost graphic on the left side of the window. It's a big red rectangle saying 'Your upgrade is now available'. Follow the prompts at that point.

Are you installing from a CD. I'd say it may be a bad CD.

Sorry, another tech didn't mention the rule of sub-domains: no www prefix! The site correctly is:

http://reg.newtek.com/

And yes, it's probably a bad CD or bad drive, you can contact us here if you want to get a replacement. Although you could try copying over the whole CD to the desktop and if it doesn't have any cyclic redundency errors then it should work (it could be a worse problem on your computer, you may even see how it works on another system).
