I just thought...
Why not make one of those early 80's, coke sniffing, martini sipping, white suit wearing... houses!

About 6 hours, modeling, lighting, whatnot... mucking about...
Only the chairs are library objects.

Rendered in Fprime overnight in uhm... 4096 x 2324.
Did some photoshop on it...

I initially made it to test Maxwell, LW9, Fprime and Kray against eachother, but both Kray and Maxwell choke on the trees and the chairs. I got tired of all the error messages and pushed the Fprime button.

I kinda like it.

That must be early in the coke binge. He is still going outside, and by day three all those pretty windows would be covered with blankets, sheets, newspapers.....

Nice work... Kray dont like clipmaps, it's enough to put transparency maps and set "recurse 100;" in Tailer commands to have enought planes.

SKy = gradient, and some minor post work.
I just don't seem to be able to find a proper 3d sky that doesn't render like a snail, and emits nice HDR light.

What trouble were you having with Kray and Maxwell with the trees?
Are they clip maped or real polygons all the way? If so did you triple the poly count (maxwell hates quads you know). That always causes problems this may help Kray as well.

The problem MR seem to have is the object should be in seperate layers for each
texture.

Kray triples all items internally, so tripling your model is almost useless.
By now it doesnt support clipmaps so you have to rely on transparency map, but you can easily overridde LW's max recurse limit (24) typing i.e. "recurse 300;" in tailor command to have 300 bounces/transparency layers.

Very nice. I particularly like the quadruple shingle design.

But your peice is lacking the little details, like stripper poles, coke mirrors, a rolled up 100, and breast smudges on the glass.
