I have a VT4.6 and it has been running fine for about a month and a half. I have an event this evening and I went to create graphics for it this morning and ran into a major problem. Hopefully someone can help. When i try to launch VT4, it tells me that the last session was shut down improperly and it then comes up with an error that says "There has been a problem communicating with the VT4 Drivers. This might be caused by error in a previous time that you ran the software, or a failure to communicate with the VT4 hardware. Try rebooting your computer, and restart the toaster, you should also check that your VT4 drivers are fully installed and running correctly."
I have reseated the board, unistalled the software and reistalled, and I can't get it fixed and I'm in a real panic here. Can anyone help. If you have answers and need to call me you can at 717-564-2623
Thanks in advance for your help.

reseating the card might have been progressive enough, but anyway,
consider running an Ooops - I've messed up my preferences, and also a power down, pull out mains lead, attempt to start the PC (dab the power button, not to expect more than a brief flicker - as the mains is now unplugged - but this will assist in removing the stored charge on the motherboard and potentially some of that on the VT card core logic), and then leave it an additional few minutes (perhaps 20). Then re-plug the mains power and try again.
There could be a file corruption, so as you work your sectionalisation forward - you might consider re-installing the suite - but be sure to have backed up all your work and settings. If you are not sure - then you are ill advised to go ahead as if you default your VT and your proformas, then you are perhaps no better off than where you are.
Support is also an option. The NewTek forums can be slower to have correspondence at times, try also yahoo-groups vtnt forum (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vtnt/messages)
Hope either the above helps, or that the problem clears away. My last suggestion is to run a checkdisk/scandisk on the C: or VT installation drive letter.
The other information to have to hand should you need to call techsup - is the lamp status on the board. It should change between power on, self diag and driver activation. I can't remember the sequencing for each core-version - but it is probably listed elsewhere on the forums (in the search archives under PCI LED or somesuch). That may verify for you if the problem is likely to be software or hardware (or both).
