URGENT!! - SDI Capture problem...

Hi,

Sorry to seem so melodramatic, but I've got a clent breathing down my neck!!...

Using VT 4.6 s/ware with VT[3] hardware and SDI card. (System: XP Pro 32 / 1GB RAM / NVidia Quadro 700 XGL / p4 3GHZ proc)

I've got an urgent job on and VT keeps aborting capture saying it is "unable to keep up with this capture configuration'.

I'm grabbing from DigiBeta via SDI with Analogue audio - we have used these same settings for months (years with the previous v3. software) and usually works fine. All of a sudden it just won't grab video!?!

I've tried using diff source footage, diff DB machine/cables, etc. Reset Configs and rebooted machine - nothing works. Spoken to Newtek in France and they've no idea.

Am going to try grabbing some DV via firewire to see if it's the SDI board thats had it..

Any ideas people?

Long time a go I have that problems with vt3. I reinstall everything and than it work ok. After first time I made disk image and restore from there every time it happend. (2-3 times per year).

When I switch to vt4 board and vt4.6 I have never see that problem again.

Yes, we have a VT[4] board on order, so I guess we'll have to wait for that.

DV capture is working for now, so that'll have to do!!

Click on the VT[1]-VT[4] folder here and select "search" (upper right). type in "unable to keep up with this capture configuration'". I found several posts pertaining to this.

I've had this problem several times. It seems at least part of the time the problem was with the Morgan MJPEG codec I use for low res capture. However it happens even when I don't use that codec. Last time I was capturing material (Digibeta / analog audio) I had this problem again and again. Haven't tracked it down. I wish the erros messages a.) were more descriptive and b.) stayed up longer. Sometimes in the codec dialog there will be an error message but it disappears before I can read it. Ugh.....
