"Roman" style beveled type

Hey all-

I've got to match some beveled type for a title, and I can't figure out how to get the deep, "Roman" style of bevel they used in the original. I played around in LW and also with the Zaxwerks AE plugin, but I can't get the pointy middles, rounded inner corners and fat bevels without serious garbling of the model.

I don't want to have to create this by hand if at all possible! This is a "quickie", low budget job. Is there some magic way to do it or, if not, any tips on how to create the look by hand?

I feel your pain, Activator. I had a similar task a few years back, and unfortunately there's no free lunch--for me at least. Take a look, I think I ended up drawing paths in Illustrator for every flat plane of geometry and stitched them together in Modeler. Talk about nightmare!

Wow... that's some gorgeous beveling! Well worth the effort!!

If this wasn't a super-low budget with no time, I'd be up for the challenge...
