When using Toaster, currently with TED and a Toaster Vision, it makes these windows "Always On Top" so anything I use (including this Internet Explorer box) are under these windows. This makes it pain when I render, or try to change the prefs, because they always show up under the other windows, and I can't find any way to make the new windows move to the front. Any ideas???

Two suggestions:

- upgrade to the latest graphics driver
- press 'Windows-d' before alt-tabbing over to the app you want to use. ;)

Windows-M is my hot key of choice. It minimises everything (very handy)

Other good ones are:

Windows-E brings up the explorer window
Windows-B* phones up Bill Gates on his mobile phone. Very handy when your computer crashes at 4am and you want to scream at somebody.

Yeah, but two reasons I prefer windows-d over the windows-m combo:
[list=1]
D uses my left (non-mouse) hand
Windows-m ONLY minimizes, whereas Windows-d actually toggles between everything minimized and everything back where it was.

I just tried windows-D and it was diasasterous.

As soon as I pressed it:
a) The screen went blank
b) A puff of black smoke came out of the back of my machine
c) My video recorder reprogrammed itself to only record 'The shopping channel'
d) My washing machine now washes woolen clothing at 95 degrees centigrade
e) My mother developed a cold
f) The price of petrol jumped up 10 pence per litre
g) two African tribes broke their ceasefire and restarted a centuries old conflict.
h) My computer e-mailed my REAL figures to the tax man.

This windows-D stuff has seriously bad holistic karma. I'm sticking to windows-M.

Jeez, that's rough :( Have they told you yet what the visiting hours at the local lockup are so we can bring you Krispy Kremes?

In any case, none of this solves my problem. When I open VT[2] and I have Ted and a Toaster vision or something open, and I open a file bin, the bile binn CANNOT be on top of the other windows. Ted and TVision always will be on top and take priority. This is the same for prefs, and even the Toaster Menu will always appear under these other windows. How do I fix this?

Phil, a couple things to try:

Shut down VT and run "Oops" in the root folder
if that doesn't help, you may want to install the latest nvidia drivers.

Paul, I had the same problem . . . everything worked fine for 2 months, then certain windows (file saving, rendering, etc) would NOT pop up in front of other Toaster windows (like ToasterEdit and Mixer). I didn't think it was my nVidia driver, since it was the latest, and it had been working for 2 mos already (although I COULD hit the WINDOWS button to pull up the task bar, then right-click the task bar Toaster icon to minimize Toaster to view other applications).

Running the "Ooops I messed up my config.bat" program did the trick (although it also resets all the desktop and other settings to the default Toaster settings, of course).

Thanks for the tip!
