Any way to import Max files? (no spitting please!)

I bought some models from www.the3dstudio.com. Some nice dinosaurs fully textured rigged etc. which I thought were in 3ds format (no problem for Lightwave eh!) but ooh eck! they are in .max format.

Which means I have models I can't open in them in :lwicon: LW9. Vue 5 wouldn't open them either so I am schtuck with 5 dinosaurs that I can't hatch! :cursin:

I wondered if you experts know of any cheap software or a plugin, that I can use to convert the files into a format I can open.

Googling didn't come up with anything useful, so you are kind of a last resort before I go to desperate measures.

Download the Max demo and use that to convert them, it's fully functional for x saves/days. As I understand it no app can open/convert Max files unless you have Max installed on your harddrive

Good advice - I neverthought about getting a 3DS demo duh! :bangwall:
