Hi when I do a batch capture in the toaster it always does it as an avi. Does anyone know where I can change that setting so i can do .rtv uncompressed?

The reason it produces an avi, is because (I assume) you are importing DV video through firewire, so all it is doing is a file transfer, and the standard DV codec on a PC is stored in the AVI format.
I would leave the files as they are if I were you, as converting them to RTV will just increase your storage usage without any noticable increase in quality.
I've just put together a programme made completely from DV (avi) clips, with no problems at all (the only difference between these and RTV clips is that when you first put them on the Ted timeline is does some processing on them (called conforming).

Well I do alots of FX work, and .rtv is easier for me to work with than eight billion jpgs.
Maybe capture to RTV via component (analog)?
