Hi
This is the first test render i did on this scene. i started making it with an old robot model i made a while ago, but the back gound is pritty much new stuff.
There is a large amount of stuff that needs changing and a lot more detail to go in but i wanted to get ure views. :)

Hmm -- chat has been a bit light on the forum recently -- must be that RL crap keeping everyone busy...
I have a problem -- I think this image deserves comment but I don't know what to say. I think I'm at a loss because it's difficult to tell where you're headed with it. It looks rather cartoony and stylized. If that's where you're going -- terrific! If not... then that's what's wrong with it.:D
If your intentions are the former, I think a simpler lighting scheme would make it stronger.
If, on the other hand, you're going for more realism, you've got to ditch those trees and roughen up your terrain.
I hope that helps -- if not, I'm totally off base :o (not to be the last time, I'm sure).
Is he doing up his shoe laces?? man I hate that, I always look for a rock or something :)

I would suggest gnarling up the trees more, and adding a bark texture.
I'd also suggest a fill light in front of the character.
lastly, I'd suggest making the ground less specular and maybe adding subtextures to the bump map.
Looking good so far, just needs the little tweaks that make it look "finished".
