node tree not saved when loading scene?

Hello,

Whenever I quit a scene and reload it, the nodes I added to my surface are gone, how can I keep them?

any help would be appreciated

If nodes are like the old layered surfaces (haven't gotten to node-ing yet) you need to save your object(s) in addition to saving the scene before quitting Layout.
