Hi guys I’m pretty new to the video editing world and I’m really tired of spending hours trying to edit my footage from a JVC HD100.

Specifically waiting about 20 minutes for 3 minutes of mt2 video to encode into avi then spending ages editing it. I have a duel xeon system and to be frank was expecting better HD editing performance.

I’m using Canopus Pro coder for the conversion and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 for editing. But the time scales are killing me.

Can any of you point me to some good video forums with a friendly atmosphere like here or any other good site to help get me started.

Thanks
Lude

I gave up trying to go the HD route using Aspect HD and Premiere Pro myself. It will just be slow and not real time no matter what you do.
Once you have edited with a VT system everything else is just horrible. So for now I just edit in SD until SpeedEdit finally hits my doorstep then it will be HDV 100% of the time.
