I'm still new to box modelling and I decided to try to replicate a known character in order to gain insight into making my original characters. Anyway, I've done a Wallace head. I'm open to suggestions for any flaw corrections or details I'm overlooking at this point.

 Definately looks like Wallace. Without seeing reference pictures I can't see any technical details that you have wrong. Could you post some wires for this character?

OK, here's two views of a high-res wire and a reference picture. I have lower-res wires, I always save incrementally, but these are what I rendered from in the first post. Some of Wallace's details differ from photo to photo. This isn't the photo I used when doing his ears.

This was my reference picture.

 I wish I knew how to box model like that! The only thing that I saw is that in the pictures Wallace's eye sockets are bigger than what you have modeled.

Why, thank you kindly. The eye sockets need work at the top in order to look more like the clay model. I think they may be shaped that way for easy access to the eyes but that's just a guess since I don't do polystyrene. His ears need a bit of tweaking as well but I probably won't bother as I don't really have a use for a Wallace model outside of this exercise.

1. He's a copyrighted character so I can't do anything with him.
2. Aardman Studios isn't going to see this and offer me a job, if anything they'd probably send a "Cease and Desist" notice.:D
3. I bow to Nick Park and his colleagues.

Whoa! I just tried Catmull-Clark! This is a very cool tool. My CC render with fewer polygons is as good as the subpatch high res render.

Oh, and this was my lower res save that I converted to CC! I also tweaked the eye-sockets and ears a bit. Had to see how things worked in CC mode, you know.

Here are all the files, for what it's worth.
