Your input requested.

After finishing 10min project in T2 I need to convert to CDROM playback. I converted the project to AVI and tested. It looks good. Now I need to compress to playback from Standard CDROM in any PC using WMP. I tried MS WM9 encoder and it worked great with excellent results but the results will not playback in all PC's without updating those older PC's running Windows 98 with newer WMP. I tried Cinepak but quality suffers to much.

Your suggestions as to which compression format and which window size works best, (looks bests) and still will playback in PC's running at least Windows 98 and newer is appreciated. I do place a short autostart scipt on the disk along with the playback file.
Thanks
Dave

For universal playback on computers from CD, it's still pretty hard to beat 'good old' MPEG1. It looks surprisingly good when you start with good source material, and you can do it with the free version of TMPEGenc.

Use TMPGEnc to make an MPEG-1 file.

The settings I recommend for what you are trying to do:

MPEG-1 352X240 CBR 1800kb/s for video and MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio at 192kb/s.

For CD-ROM playback it's compatible and looks decent even if you scale it to full screen in playback.
