city reference material

I'm modelling a city and am looking for ref material that tells me the width of streets, the height of lampposts, and that kind of thing. Any suggestions?

I don't know how open they would be to you asking, but your city/town hall or building containing the mayor's office might have that sort of thing. You could also try you local highway department.

i don't want to sound critical here. but really... the best way to do this is to go out and measure yourself. Unless of course... you're lucky enough not to live in a city :D

Tried the Architectural Graphic Standards book? There is one for Civil engineering too, I think, or is that landscape architecture... hmm but they're big'ol books with lots of that stuff.
