Once I render out to a farm that produces a few hundred tga or png files, how do I reassemble those frames into an actual animation? Can this be done in lightwave? Is there some other tool to do it with?
Thanks

It can be done in LightWave, if you want. These threads might help:

Sure can be done in lightwave
Start up a new scene. Open up image editor and select the first frame of your images and for image type choose sequence.
Then under the setup tab go to compositing and choose your new sequence as your background image.
Then hit F10
Don't forget to adjust your movies dimensions to the dimensions of your rendered frames and the number of frames in your scene
