Well its a little somthing I've been working on in between revising. Texture is just a base coat, more detail later on.

Hello Rei,

YOur ships are looking better. If this isnt for your game project I would suggest modelling in more details and smoothing out the edges around the intakes.

The finer the detail the better it'll look at the end!

If i were you i would ad some small detail, this would give the overall shape scale and size, at the moment it just looks like a toy!

Luv the textures on the under side of it, it looks like it has been shot or something

giv u a bit of background on me, I am 12 years old and I live in Perth Western Australia I got LW about 3 months ago from my relo who lives in london (Mark Mills I doubt u know him). I have not had any tutorials so I tought myself LW

Can't agree with the possitive comments I'm afraid, there are many, many, major flaws in this.

It looks like there's ambient light in space, the style of the flaming exhausts seems very inappropriate to the rest, and it looks like its reflecting an earth based image map.

The flaming exhausts also don't line up with the engine tubes.

Lens flares floating in front of the wings with no kind of housing is just plain lazy.

I'm guessing that the opaque blue bit near the front is meant to be a window / cockpit but can't see any reason for an opaque blue window.

And the way that the wings / fins just sort of broaden and jelly into the hull is silly. No vehicle I have seen is even remotely like this. Again, looks lazy, like you just hit the tab key on a (very) rough shape.

If you want to improve this, you are spoilt for choice, but fixing the basic flaws above would be a start...

And as the other guy said, there is a desparate need for more detail / shaping in general.

There are loads of excellent tutorials on the web about spaceships and space lighting, and, although it's old, the Ron Thornton videos on modelling and surfacing spaceships are superb, (and may be available very cheaply as a result of their age!).

I'm really sorry rei, but here's a little more crits added on just to make you know i care!

You really need to finish one thing before starting another!

So get the model finished before doing things like UV maps

Thats all for now...keep it up!

I know that everyones been givin it lots of crits, I agree with what they say. BUT I still think it looks cool in a way.

Rei, are you going to cel shade it?

that UFO took 5mins (or less) and did you hear the ammount of flack i got for that, lighten up guys!

The Hammer took me over 5 months to do from start to finalising the mesh of the last variant (4 in total)

This is the only thing i have been workin on at the mo, aside from all my exams. Yeah just Mechanics 1 on tuesday and I'm done!

Nice geometry change. It is alot less blobby and alot more spaceship like.

The opaque cockpit is still kinda weird, At least make it reflective to make better.

Ignore the nasty comments Rei. Is ILM in any danger of you putting them out of business? No, but it shows promise, keep plugging away! :)

Couldn't agree more.

By his own description it was 5 minutes which hardly counts as work, and the progress was indetectable...

That only leaves the word "in" to justify its presence here, and I think you have identified this connection, as with "stepped in"...

Cel shading would improve it, by reducing the detail shown, but I think the only cure here is to reduce the light intensity to 0%, and turn off ambient.

...And turn off all luminosity in surfaces too.
