We just posted the new video trailer that we've been working on. As I have mentioned before, there will be several different videos that are released in the coming months as more features are unveiled and refined. These will include access, amenities and the various unit types broken down into video modules for selected playback.
You will need Flash8 to play this video or you can access the windows media version on the same page.

Excellent work, congrats !
Even video integration and camera matching are very well done.
I only dislike sun changes in baked (or GI-faked) interiors, when sun moves diffuse light stays the same - anyway average people will not notice this too much.

Wow, very stylish...
Very well done... some nitpickings:
I thought the kitchen was a bit too saturated and contrastey to be believable, but I suppose its in tune with the rest of the imagery.
I really liked the color balance of the scene where the camera travels upwards along the tower. I'd suggest making more scenes with that balance.
I think the deck chairs in the pool scene were way too saturated.
The night shot with cars is great. Did you use video footage?

Thanks. The night shot was was done all in lightwave, used photos for the background, skylight plugin for timelapse, and cars rendered seperate then added in post.
Very nice!
Looks like this is going to be the tallest building in town.

excellent work !!
The integration with video footages are very good - the render is a bit sharper that the real footage though, but I guess the client wanted his building to show off !
Only LW ?
thanks for sharing

Otacon, how did you do interiors ? Kray baking or a good AO+gradients usage ?

Thanks. We actually had no video footage. All backgrounds are from photos, the top down shot is actually an image from google maps i think, then cars were animated on top. Yes, its all lightwave. Interiors were rendered with lightwave, manual light setups, a lot of include/exclude using point lights, plus ambient occlusion. Exteriors were rendered with fprime, some had a little background radiosity turned on. Three of us worked on it for about three weeks. Fun project.
Heres a few full res pics of the interiors.

Great!!!
very inspiring work... how many machines do you guys use to render this?
are you using BNR? what was the avderage frame rendertime on the interiors
and ext. ?

Thanks. We have about 25 machines for rendering with BNR. Average frame time on interiors were about 20 minutes per frame at 960x540. Exteriors are harder to judge because they were all fprime, i would say about 10-15 minutes per frame.

ok... hmm we use 22 processors, rendering pal D1/letterbox 720x430 animations... takes about 1.5 hour pr. frame with montecarlo....

Actually we have 20 dual cores dedicated 24/7 and then a mixture of another 10 p4s with various configs. Overnight the other 15 computers are added to the farm - unless tied up otherwise. So more like 45 overnight and 30 during the day.
Plan to add another 20 this fall.

With projects like this, you guys need as much render-power you could buy...

No doubt. More is always better. We used to build all of them ourselves, but are now starting to lease from Dell - good deal and we don't have to mess with upkeep. When lease is up - get new and better computers.

Yeah I know some who are doing this...also I know an FX super...who buys the latest and greatest for a project...then sells the units... He also leverages and charges the projects...So in the end he is making money rather than losing it. He also keeps up with the latest and greatest depending on the needs each project or set of projects have.

Otacon & Gaushell,
Do you have both AMD and INTEL processors in your rendering power?
If yes, have you notice differencies in LW or FPrime rendering?

All Intel for that very reason - we are concerned about changes to algorithm based shaders, etc.
