This is the situation:

During a recent live broadcast our choir used a CD for its music source. The CD runs through a standard channel on the house/broadcast board.

During the playback of the CD the video output from Tricaster was distorted. Once the CD was stopped the video returned to normal.

During some testing following the service we notice that it the audio from the board goes above a certain level the video is lost if it stays below that level it becomes distorted.

What might be causing this problem?

Is the board pusing too much audio for the TC to handle?

What is the TC max audio input?

Thanks

Try using a different audio source to come in, see if the video is still distorted (there's a small possibility that the front SX-3 input panel was somehow damaged, but methinks not).

Also, if you could please let me know what sort of sound system you have going into the TriCaster I could research and find out if the system is causing a power overload and disrupting the signal. Brand and model names in particular would be most helpful so I can compare the systems.

Are you coming in through the mic inputs or the RCA audio inputs? As much infomation as you can provide as to what set up you have, the better.

The audio from a different source does work as normal.

The board we are using as the audio source to TC is a YAMAHA GA32-12.

We are using the REC OUT phono jacks wich are labeled at -10dBV (316mV)

Is this too much output or could I have a crosstalk problem somewhere?

Thanks
