I've created a new Facial Animation Tutorial on my website. It shows my workflow using Lipservice and Lightwave 7.5c. You can find it at:

click on the tutorials link.
Hope some of you find it useful.

A bit late with my comments here...but hey, that's a nice tut. I loved using Lipservice but I found it a bind to use with Lightwave 6.5 and all the new stuff. My time-out Lipservice no longer works, I'd sure like to give it another go with your technique.

Glad you liked the tutorial. Lipservice has some really unique features. I wish more people would have used it when It first came out - so they could understand the power that it has.
True. I know that Joe Alter got busy with other stuff (XSI and Maya hair etc) but I wish he'd do a LW update. I always found the banks of phonemes a little finicky to work with but otherwise I loved it. Shall we petition him ??? :p
Have you any other work done with Lipservice to view?

I've actually done quite a few projects with it including a animated series test for Disney. Worked great! The problem is most of the stuff is under NDA agreements.
I don't think petitioning Joe is the best idea, seems he became quite irritated with the Lightwave community a while back. I'm not sure that would get the best results. Honestly, I'm not sure what the best approach would be. That is partly why I created the tutorial. I thought it might open up the dialog again between Newtek and Joe.

Shame about the bust-up. I always found Joe very helpful, I reviewed Shave quite a while back for a mag and he went out of his way to get a license code to me while away. I always have a good laugh watching `Jersey` too :D
Stuck with LW's Morphmixer for lipsync'ing for now.

If you have a shave licence then you also have a lipservice licence. That means you can use Morphmixer or Lipservice if you want. Even if you just use Lipservice as just a modeling tool to create your phonemes it is still a valuable tool. But the current version works fine with Lightwave 7.5 and 7.5c versions.
