I'm working on a medical animation, that requires particles to attach to the arms of little nano bots after entering a beaker. I can get the swirling action fine, but getting the particles to attach is tricky!
What I thought is, I could run the sequence in reverse - start attached and then move them away and this approach seems to be working, except I need someway of creating a pulsed explosion wind so they dont move away from the arms so uniformly.
Any ideas? :stumped:

Have you tried dynamics? The collision dynamic can be set to "stick", which basically causes things to stick to the object.

I've not tried the stick option before. If I had 26 particles entering the frame from the top, how could I get each one to attach itself to one of the 26 nanobots arms?
Stick would help, but I need some kind of attractor per particle too. :stumped:

Make your nanobots a Collision Stick with 100% and 100 friction, 100 fix, make a null that runs over the area you want to have the particles stick, use the null as Target in the emitter.
Make sure you tweak the Velocity in the emitter to control your particles speed towards the target...

Thanks Howard, I new you had a good solution!
However, I lost patience with the PFX and went for cunning morph trick! I'm on a real tight schedule to get this delivered so while PFX a glamourous solution, I feel the time running out :(
I'll return to it for round two though, as I got a bit more time for that!
Cheers
