This is a great price for such a powerful tool.

Too bad they ruined it for the PC - Crapple users may be excited by this announcement though.

That's an insane price -- even when you add the cost of a mac.
I wonder how well it would run on a mini . . .

Rumor is this will be the last major version of Shake until a radically new and improved product will be introduced in 2008. It will probably become a component of the Final Cut Pro Studio Extreme bundle.

WOW! Finally us PC users get to complain about a Mac only version. ;) What a great deal.

Hmm...a new Mac AND a copy of Shake for less than one copy of Fusion...interesting...

Rumor mill has it that the main reason for this prize drop is that they are axing Shake as it is today and putting all there efforts in to a new product supposedly named "Phenomenon" to be released in 2008. Phenomenon is to have Shake´s capacities (and I suppose some more) but based on Motion code technology.
I wonder: If I buy Shake now will that give me an INCREDIBLE upgrade offer once Phenomenon hit sthe street? I´m not a Shake user today but I do work with LW/Combustion. Having a superb compositor that can work "nicely" with both LW and Final Cut Pro seems quit compelling.

Too bad, there's no mention of what the x86 Linux version costs...
