I would like a way to tag a point on the timeline that needs special attention by me at a later time and be able to delete that tag individually. Of course I want to put text on the tag. Maybe even a color coded marker that would mean something to me such as adjust audio here, place overlay, etc.
While I'm at it, I wish the markers we now have would not move unless we press a hotkey to allow them to move with the play line and,
is there someway to remove the markers we have now one by one with out removing them all at the same time? Thanks
The Marker in VT will everything you are asking for.
Add a marker on the timeline by pressing "M". At the bottom (where the line gets a little "thicker",double click. This will "expand the mark" and you can now type a description. You can also click in the green color box and change the color.
To delete a marker, put the play head directly over it, right click and select "delete marker at edit point" (if it does not say this, then you do not have the play head over the marker.
You can also put markers onto individual clips (highlight the clip first and then enter "M".

Double Click on a marker and you can add text to it.
Maybe even a color coded marker
You can also add color by double clicking them and then left clicking the box.
This works with both Project and Clip Markers.

Right Click and select "Remove Marker at Edit Line"

To quickly move between markers use the < and > keys. If you've moved to an existing marker that you want to remove just hit M, it toggles markers on and off. As Jeff inferred above, keep track of whether you're dealing with "Timeline" markers or "Clip" markers, it makes a difference.

Another handy feature is using an overlay as Post Its per say.
Drag the black.tga file onto the timeline. Turn on Overlay and set alpha to 0. This makes it invisible and basically a null clip.
Then change the name of the clip in the bottom left of VT-Edit above durations, to what your note should be. (Insert VO here... etc).
If you turn off icons for overlays your note holds more characters.
Then drop a bright color on it to make it stick out.
Drag the colored tga off the timeline and into a folder in the filebin to use later.
I have a folder full of different notes for different reasons.

Thanks Jim, I'm on my way to the computer, gonna try all these tools.
Good idea Jim!
We have always used a CG page for placeholders, but this could be handy for times when you don't want the info to appear on the screen.
thanks!
