View Full Version : Anchoring Points for Cloth Dynamics Less Than 100%

Hey everyone, i'm working on a project in which i need a wavy, flowing piece of cloth. If i apply an anchor the object, even if i use a weight map set at less than 100% influence, the points still stay in their original positions, making the object look pinned up. I would like to have the points flow with the rest of the cloth, but slower, as if they were suspended by string and being lowered at a steady pace, but gravity was pulling the other points down at a faster rate.

Is there a way that i could tell LW to make a selection-set which has different properties then the rest of the cloth? Thanks,
~Emfrobia
P.S. I'm pretty sure this effect could be achieved with wind, but i would like to know the answer to this question for future projects.

Next to each ClothFX attribute is an "FX" button. Click on the "FX" button to choose a weight map or selection set that will receive the values stored in the main setting. Then click on the FX button again, and choose "base". The "base" value affects all points not marked on the weight map or selection set that you assigned to the main value.

If a given point has a weight of less than 100%, its attribute value will be a mix of the main and base values.
